Grimm’s design durable wooden toys whose minimal design leaves much room for the development of the child’s creativity. In this way, new fantastic play worlds emerge, keeping pace with the child’s development. In product development, Grimm’s are guided by the principles of Waldorf education and other educational approaches, such as Montessori.
SAFE & NATURAL
Grimm’s design durable toys whose simple and minimalist shapes, along with beautiful colouring are suitable for all ages – products that inspire play over and over again.
All Grimm’s products are tested regularly and comply with the European Toy Safety Standard (EN 71) and US standards.
Children and adults alike are attracted by the brilliant colours and beautiful uncoated wood surfaces. The bright colour glaze and plant oils preserve the living surface of the wood. The result is a typically rough and yet velvety wooden surface, which contributes to a greater play value, especially for building material, because the individual pieces do not slip off so easily. Grimm’s use glazing colours and vegetable oil. Colours are water-based, non-toxic and saliva-fast. Of course, all colours and oils are certified according to the European toy safety standard (EN 71).
For Grimm’s, sustainable design means a design that is untouched by short-lived trends and that, through its reduction to the essentials, leaves room for the development of one’s own creativity and imagination. Thus, the same toy can become a faithful companion over many years, because it can be played with again and again, since it keeps up with the child’s development.
Grimm’s manufacture durable toys and our raw material wood is so robust that it can stay with us for a long time. If something breaks, it can be repaired with glue (GRIMM’s Repair Kit). And wood fits into the natural cycle without any problems.
Grimm’s wood comes exclusively from sustainably managed forests in Europe. Grimm’s are an FSC certified company and are actively engaged in reforestation projects.
